She EmpowHers Has Been Selected as an ElevenLabs AI Grant Recipient

When we set out to build She EmpowHers, we made a decision early that has shaped every choice since: we would not use technology because it was available. We would use it because it was right for the women we are building for.

That is why being selected as an ElevenLabs AI grant recipient means more than the resources themselves. It is validation that the way we are thinking about AI in this space, carefully, intentionally, and with the women using this platform at the center of every decision, is the right way to think about it.

What This Means for the Platform

Through this grant, She EmpowHers receives three million AI voice credits and direct access to the ElevenLabs team to support our implementation. That is not a small thing for a platform that was built on the belief that how something feels is as important as what it does.

Here is what we are building with it.

Voice has always been central to how She EmpowHers delivers its content. Our growth paths are designed to meet women in their lives, not just at their desks, which means audio is not an add-on feature. It is a core delivery format. With ElevenLabs, we will create authentic, differentiated voices for our audio and video lessons, each with its own tone and presence, so the content feels like it is coming from someone, not something.

And eventually, Coach Izzy will have a voice too. Because a woman processing something hard at 11pm deserves more than text on a screen.

Why We Are Intentional About AI

We talk a lot internally about the difference between using AI and using AI well. In a space as personal as women's growth and mental wellness, that distinction is not small. It is ethical.

One of our core values at She EmpowHers is that technology should feel like a hand to hold, not another weight to carry. That belief shapes every product decision we make, and it is the lens through which we evaluate every AI tool we bring into the platform.

Every AI feature we build goes through clinical review with our lead advisor Tichina Burnett, LCPC, and bias and ethics review with Dr. Ebony Shah-Williams, PhD, whose published research focuses specifically on diverse population representation in AI systems. We do not launch anything that has not been held up to that standard first.

ElevenLabs' voice technology gives us the ability to scale content creation without sacrificing the cultural specificity and emotional authenticity that makes She EmpowHers different from anything else in this space. Diverse voices. Distinct tones. Content that sounds like it was made for her, because it was.

That is our promise across everything we build: that the AI women encounter on this platform, from the lessons to the voices to the product features themselves, is ethically designed, culturally aware, and intentionally built to reduce bias. Not as a checkbox. As a non-negotiable.

What Comes Next

We are currently in the final stages of our MVP build ahead of our beta launch this August. The ElevenLabs integration will roll out in phases, beginning with audio lesson content and expanding to include Coach Izzy's voice layer as the platform grows.
